Melissa & Doug Water WOW! Animals – ON the GO Travel Activity

No-mess painting for kids! This exciting paint-with-water colouring book includes four reusable pages and a refillable water pen. Simply use the pen to colour in each scene–details and vibrant colour appear with every stroke! Then let the page dry to erase the pictures and fill it in again and again. This animal-themed book includes four scenes to colour, and a search-and-find activity for each scene. The chunky-sized water pen is easy for kids to hold and stores neatly right in the front cover, so Water WOW books make ideal travel activity books and travel toys for kids!

This toy was an absolute hit with both my children and me. Like a lot of children, my two girls love colouring in, especially in the car. I am not as big a fan. The prospect of cleaning up (mostly melted) wax crayons and felt tip pen marks from the interior of my car really does not fill me with joy and so I was thrilled when I discovered the Melissa and Doug water wow pen. This pen means that my children can now colour in anywhere they like and since getting this activity set, they have. From the supermarket to the car, restaurants, home affairs (yes really) and at home. It is quick and easy to refill (I have even used bottled water when on the go) and Melissa and Doug have a number of different designs to choose from. I have since bought some different ones and packed them in my emergency entertainment kit for when I am out and about. I am always going to make sure that I have one of these around.

Melissa & Doug Cutting Fruit Set – Wooden Play Food
This Melissa & Doug wooden set features a wooden knife and seven pieces of sliceable fruit that can be cut into a total of seventeen pieces. Food makes a fun “CRUNCH” sound when sliced. With so many pieces, it’s also a great way to introduce the concepts of part, whole and fractions!

What a fun idea this set is! My little ones had endless amounts of fun sitting in their play tent and making fruit salad for mom and counting all of the fruit pieces. The pieces stick together with Velcro and so they are easy for my children to stick back together and make an awesome crunching, cutting sound when the chunky wooden knife slices through them. The various pieces of fruit are divided into a number of different pieces, from two to four, and so they are all like puzzle pieces that need to be put back together. There are also a number of other suggested activities that come with the set, like identifying the different types of fruit; introducing mathematical concepts like fractions and playing memory games with the pieces.

Jogs Activity Tent

Jogs Activity Tents are made by hand with love and care, especially for kids to enhance their “learning through play” experience. Activity tents are recommended by occupational therapists as they are great for fantasy play, quiet times, reading books, to take to the park or to the beach to provide shade and a safe beacon for your child. They can even be used indoors on a rainy day (a huge plus for beating boredom).

These 5 Pole Activity Tents are so easy to assemble and pack up very compactly, enabling you to transport them effortlessly. They fit comfortably in almost every car model and fit snugly behind a bedroom door, inside a wardrobe, or under the bed when not in use. Rubber feet prevent the poles from sliding on carpeted, tiled, wooden and laminate floors, and also protect the poles from absorbing damp on surfaces such as wet grass or damp sea sand.

Encourage your child to play using their imagination.

Occupational Therapists recommend tents & teepees for children suffering from Sensory Integration Disorder, children who fall under the Autism “umbrella” and children with other physically and emotionally challenging issues.

Play tents are a wonderful way to let your children’s imaginations run wild. They can create so many different scenarios and be lost in their own world for hours. One of the things I liked most about this tepee tent as opposed to a more traditional tent is how easy it is to assemble and move around. You simply pick a spot, open up the legs and voila! My little ones used it for an outside picnic with their wooden fruit, in my bedroom to keep busy while I got ready for the day and in their rooms piled in with blankets and books as a secret reading corner. The tepee is also really well made and sturdy with thick canvas fabric and I wasn’t at all worried about it collapsing or falling over. If you are looking at getting a play tent for your children I would highly recommend this one. They can be bought directly from orders@clamberclub.com.
